Introduction
During the month of December, Erin and Nathan Large will host an Advent Bible Study based on the book "God is in the Manger" by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
Bonhoeffer was a German theologian who lived through the rise of the Nazi party. He strongly resisted the ideology of the Nazis and worked tirelessly to create a Christian community free from Nazi influence. As World War II wore on, Bonhoeffer became involved with anti-Hitler elements in the German intelligence service. He was ultimately arrested and imprisoned in a series of concentration camps before his execution in 1945, just days before the end of the War. For more on Bonhoeffer, look here.
"God is in the Manger" is a collection of reflections on Advent at Christmas written by Bonhoeffer during his time in prison.
